a collection of information regarding the two circles of ruin-cats.
the blackshardscommon traits --medium to dark toned fur, green or blue eyes, either extremely lean or heavily muscled, long ears, short to medium length fur.
common characteristics --aggressive, logical, judgmental, self-conscious, good leadership ability, sometimes quiet, down-to-earth.
notable members --shard -- founder and first speaker of the blackshards, pale brown tabby tomcat, unusually long claws, green eyes. found the ruins while hunting as a young cat. invited others to join him.
june -- shard's mate, a dark grey she-cat with pale amber eyes. gave birth to the first blackshard litter, consisting of three she-cats and a tom.
quix -- the first manic of the blackshards. maine coon tomcat, yellow eyes. shard's kit-hood friend.
territory overview --the blackshards possess a wide expanse of territory, covering a grassland and partially, a woodland. their dens lie under the ground, running along ancient pipelines and dug out caverns. their complicated tunnel system is taught to every circle member before their eighth wane, and the scheme is a well hidden secret, kept far away from skyseeker ears. their systems run partially underneath the skyseekers' territory, though no exit leads to their land.
there's a rocky outcropping away slightly from the part of the ruins the blackshard circle calls home, where young cats are taught the ways of hunting and fighting by an older member of the circle.
circle diet --due to their underground den, the blackshard circle members' first meal is usually a large beetle or a mouse. outside of the underworld, however, the wide grasslands provide several different species of bird, and rabbit. unless they enter the small patch of woodland, the cats don't dine on squirrel very often.
the skyseekerscommon traits --pale or light fur, light yellow or amber eyes, light build, delicate paws, medium to long fur, toughened pawpads.
common characteristics --passive, dreamy, highly-religious, strategists, narrow-minded, swift, witty.
notable members --sky -- founder of the skyseekers, a light ginger she-cat with long fur and yellow eyes. shard's cousin. had an idea different than the blackshard's and turned a different group into another circle, a more religious, peaceful group, though their ideals are not always possible with the blackshards living so close.
eli -- sky's first manic, and her most trusted companion. a small gray tom with green eyes, who took no mate.
yellow -- the firstborn kitten of the skyseeker circle, a golden brown tabby she-cat with pale blue eyes; blind. served her circle well as the first priest.
territory overview --the skyseekers control the upperlands and higher areas of the ruins, taking home in the craggy cliffs that jut around it. their den lies in the tallest crumbling building, which only skyseekers know the safest path to. this circle's territory spans most of the ruined buildings and ancient city, not extending much into the surrounding wilderness. the alleys and various empty buildings provide excellent hunting places, as well as vantage points for patrols.
these cats have slender, delicate paws, but tough pads. the many pieces of crumbling rock take every chance possible to slice the tender skin open. their light builds enable them to climb the highest towers, as well as run the fastest. blackshards usually can't see their coats against the light sky, and therefore find it difficult to track them around the city.
circle diet --rodents are first on the list for skyseekers, although the occasional bird or insect does just fine. the skyseekers, steadfast in their beliefs as ever, say thanks to the circle of skyshards before each meal, and even have various herbs growing along in the dirtied streets, which they use to flavor their meals and protect against disease.
